What We Believe

We believe that for Family-School-Community Partnership (FSCP) strategies to realize their full potential, we must create shared responsibility across all levels of leadership. Our levers of support are:

Where We Belong

We belong to the national network of Statewide Family Engagement Centers (SFEC) through the Department of Education. SFEC enhances collaboration and communication between schools, families, and communities.

How We Gather

We gather and organize family, school, district, and state leaders in Colorado around 4 key levers:

FSCP Resources will

  • be available and include print materials, web-based content, federal grant funding, foundation support, in-kind contributions, and research-based Family-School-Community Partnership (FSCP) resources.

  • ensure educators across Colorado can access tools and strategies to foster robust family-school partnerships at the school level.

  • resources will provide families spanning pre-kindergarten through 12th grade throughout Colorado with equitable access to resources and learning opportunities. These resources aim to enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence for engaging with their students' schools and districts at the household level.

Training will

  • inform educators on high-impact Family-School-Community Partnership (FSCP) strategies.

  • provide district and state-level training on the foundational aspects of FSCP, such as research-based approaches and reframing strategies.

  • implement trainer-of-trainers programs for district leaders to disseminate high-impact FSCP strategies, along with training systems for relationship-based home visits at the district level.

  • conduct three training sessions for teachers at the school level focused on welcoming all families, equitable and effective communication, and supporting student success.

Coaching will

  • involve working with FSCP leadership teams to advance policies for elevating and integrating FSCP across units at the state level.

  • provide district leaders with monthly individualized sessions to support their development at the district level.

  • offer school leaders monthly individualized sessions to assist in building infrastructure for FSCP at the school level.

Collaborative Network will

  • involve school administrators and educators employing collaborative leadership with families to identify and address opportunities and concerns at the school level as well as provide facilitated learning networks.

  • entail families are meaningfully collaborating and sharing leadership with school staff and administrators to identify and address opportunities and concerns at the household level.

  • see Colorado families being active and collaborative partners in decision-making at the school building and district level within their households.
